artsprep The ArtsPrep Program of the Tri-C Performing Arts Division provides a clear pathway to success through the arts for students of all ages. ArtsPrep offers affordable and accessible training in the arts with the goal that participants who remain in the program, regardless of artistic talent, will be fully prepared to enter the college of their choosing. By focusing on rigorous, professional training, ArtsPrep develops confidence, mastery of craft, creativity, self discipline and familiarity with a college environment. ArtsPrep guides every student in Dance, Music and/or Theatre to be challenged to do their best by a faculty of world class teaching artists. All faculty have a performance degree in the discipline they teach, or have a long time professional career of distinction. All instruction, regardless of student age or experience, is at a college level quality tailored specifically to the needs of our students. Our commitment is to develop students into “competent craftsmen” who have the opportunity to fully realize their talent at any level they choose. In each of the disciplines of the ArtsPrep program, students will be provided with age-appropriate instruction of college level quality. Students who begin their training with ArtsPrep will be guided to take classes/lessons that will develop their skills through a progressive curriculum. Every term concludes with a public recital that showcases the work of each student. This provides our students with the opportunity to perform before their families and peers, and gives an incentive to practice on a regular basis. At various points along the path of their training, students will be provided with an opportunity to advance to a higher level of instruction. Through instructor recommendation and/or interview and auditions, qualified students will be allowed to move into the next level of training in their discipline. The culmination of the training comes in the various High School ensembles, designed to fully prepare our top students to enter a college or conservatory of their choosing. Students who advance to this level will be guided to begin their college career while still in High School through the Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program (PSEOP). PSEOP allows qualified High School students to take college level courses while still in High School for low or potentially no cost.
